September 7, 2023

Career Services has been busy coordinating opportunities this fall for students to grow their professional networks. With Fall Career Conference Week running from Monday, Sept. 25, to Thursday, Sept. 28, our team hopes your student can participate in the many professional and career events.

  • Career Conference Prep Week: Five days of programming and support for students to take advantage of upcoming events, including drop-in resume reviews and a signature Blue Devil Prep for Success event.
  • Fall Career Conference: Offering five industry-specific events for students to connect with potential employers and alumni.

Other events this fall include:

  • Workforce Recruitment Program: WRP is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and private-sector employers nationwide with current students with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs. Registration closes Thursday, Oct. 12.
  • Job Shadow Program: Job shadowing allows students to get an insider’s view and experience a day in the life of a professional working in a career field of interest.
  • Internship Draft Day: Thursday, Nov. 2, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay. See Handshake for more information.
  • Government and Nonprofit Career Fair: Friday, Nov. 3. Transportation will be provided. Handshake will have more information soon.

Encourage your student to log in and create or update their profile in Handshake to help increase their engagement with employers in the system. They can explore more in CONNECT and reach out to us at careerservices@uwstout.edu about our Cooperative Education and Internship Program.

We also hold a Spring Career Conference Week, as well as Art & Design Week in the spring semester. This national award-winning program offers professional portfolio reviews for students in the School of Art and Design.

You can also visit our First Destination Report, which shows UW-Stout's employment and continuing education outcomes from undergraduate programs, as well as statistics that demonstrate the impact and success of our students.
