Welcome to the 2021 Student Artist in Residence exhibit at the Furlong Gallery.

Each year, the Student Artist in Residence program awards two School of Art and Design students with a grant of $2,000 each. They receive a dedicated studio and exhibition space, resulting in a body of work created over the course of the year.

“These projects reflect a level of distinction and aesthetic normally reserved for a body of work that would be completed by a professional artist,” SOAD Director Dave Beck said.

The 2021 SAIR recipients are studio art seniors Sarah Campbell and Beck Slack. Their exhibit, That ([   ]), invites gallery visitors to explore the concepts of portals, poetry and photography.
