UW-Stout offers scholarships to qualified international students based on their academic achievement or equivalent grade point average (GPA), financial need, and their continued participation in qualifying cultural and community service activities. Students are only eligible for one international scholarship award. These scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis to full-time students. Continuing students must complete a minimum 20 hours of global involvement before the deadline for the next semester. The scholarships currently available for international applicants at the point of admission are:
International Student Tuition Scholarship*
The following scholarships are based on previous academic performance and financial need. International students who apply to Stout degree programs are automatically considered**.
Graduate Students
$6,000*** per academic year for students with a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
Based on bachelors/undergraduate or graduate degree GPA of 3.2 or higher, and financial need. To maintain the scholarship, a cumulative UW-Stout graduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
Undergraduate Students
$5,000*** per academic year GPA: 3.0 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
Based on high school/undergraduate coursework GPA of 3.0 or higher, and financial need. To maintain the scholarship, a cumulative UW-Stout undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
* Please note: These scholarships are awarded only at the time of admission and transcripts will not be re-evaluated at a later date. Customized Instruction, remedial courses, and ESL programs and classes are not eligible for the International Tuition Scholarship.
** Undergraduate applicants are required to complete the essay portion of the application to be eligible for scholarship consideration.

#YouAreWelcomeHere Scholarship*
50% of the Nonresident Tuition Rate
Based on high school/undergraduate coursework GPA of 3.5 (4.0 scale) or higher for first-year undergraduate international applicant of any major demonstrating interest and initiative in promoting intercultural learning and exchange.
Applicants must first complete the UW-Stout application for admission. Following this, applicants must complete the #YAWH scholarship application and submit to international@uwstout.edu by April 1 for Fall consideration. Only two qualifying students will be awarded this scholarship each year during the fall term.
To maintain the scholarship, a cumulative UW-Stout undergraduate GPA of 3.0 or higher is required.
