Finding Your New Campus Community

It's no surprise that a university can't be the perfect fit for every student. As a result, thousands of students transfer every year. Maybe you're considering a different field, or maybe your current school just didn't live up to the expectations you had.

At UW-Stout, one-third of our students have successfully transferred from other institutions. And they love it here! We have full-time staff exclusively dedicated to guiding each student from their unique situation onto our campus.

Who is a Transfer Student?

A transfer student is anyone who has attended another college or university after graduating from high school and wishes to enroll at UW–Stout.

You are considered a transfer student if you’ve taken at least one college-level course starting with the fall semester after you graduated from high school. We would prefer that transfer students successfully complete 12 college-level credits prior to transferring.

Transfer students often have questions about their new school, the community, and if their prior credit will successfully transfer. We're here to answer those questions! And we're here to help you make your way onto our vibrant campus.

"Within a few weeks, I knew that transferring to UW-Stout was one of the best decisions I've made."
